Nightingale Early Access, the open-world survival crafting game from Inflexion Games, will be released on February 22, 2024, as confirmed via their Release Date Trailer on Gamescom’s Opening Night Live.
Nightingale Early Access Confirmed For February 2024
Fans of survival games will have something to look forward to in Nightingale. The game will have players take on the role of a Realmwalker with the unique ability to go through one magical portal to the next. In each portal, they will explore the Faeworld forests to discover various hostile and friendly, otherworldly creatures and build structures to serve as their base.
Ultimately, the goal is to make their way to Nightingale, the “last known bastion of humanity”. Do you have what it takes to reach this magical city? Can you and your friends survive and thrive in these dangerous places?
Welcome, Realmwalker
In Nightingale, you will be able to go through an entire adventure alone or play with friends to make it more efficient to gather resources and uncover the mysteries of the realms you will visit. With the materials you acquire, you can craft weapons, upgrade them with magical properties, and even build massive estates from scratch. Given the land’s size, it is possible to form huge communities and hire NPCs to help you grow further, especially while you are exploring other parts of the realm.
While you are out and about, you will get the chance to know more about the history of the place you are in, from the claustrophobic caves to the questionable Fae architecture. Everything is up for investigation but be careful because you might end up going against creatures that are too imposing and powerful for your own good.
Speaking of combat, you thankfully have enough options at your disposal whether you intend to take them on up close or from a distance. The good thing about this is that even if you choose to play Nightingale solo, you can still join other players to put down gargantuan monsters together.
New and Improved Gales of Night
In Nightingale’s Release Date Trailer as part of Gamescom 2023, there were never-before-seen improvements to the game. For instance, players will be able to swim but this comes with a caveat. It seems like there is a stamina system associated with it given that your Realmwalker is subjected to exhaustion.
Additionally, new clothing styles will be available in the form of unlocks and the crafting system, making characters remain stylish while remaining true to the “Gaslamp Fantasy World” that the game boasts.
A Monstrous Nightingale Foe
When it comes to enemies, there are Sun Giant bosses across the realm who are holding onto unique trinkets. Perhaps beating him will yield valuable items but the fight is known to be extremely challenging because they are adept wielders of magic so make sure to equip your best weapons!
There is also the Automaton Knight enemy who is embellished in gold armor and is the defender of the rest of the Automatons enemy faction. What’s different about them is they are not only magically-inclined creatures but they are adept in utilizing electricity to their advantage. So be very careful when you spot them, otherwise, you might just get electrocuted to a crisp!
But these are not the only changes the trailer has revealed since Nightingale also has enchantments including “fire and lightning ammo to Rescission and Realmic Preservation Magick”. It remains to be seen what the Rescission and Realmic Preservation Magick stand for though, if you can mix and match different affinities or not. One thing is for sure – with a weapon in one hand and your power in the other, your Realmwalker will also be a formidable foe to face. So we are excited to learn about these in the coming months.
Nightingale Early Access Details
Nightingale’s Early Access debut was supposed to be in the Fall of this year, however, pushing it back to a few months meant that Inflexion Games now has the time to refine the user experience and reduce the number of bugs right from the start. This will be the perfect period to zero in on what the community is asking for and the things that the developers, themselves, should focus on in order to deliver a truly polished survival crafting game.
Nightingale will cost USD 29.99, even after its Early Access run. The game will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
